Corus International is seeking a Graphic Designer to join its Global Relationships and Resources Department.

This position can be based in Washington, DC or Baltimore, Maryland in a hybrid remote work capacity working two days each week in the office. Tuesday is a core office day.

The Graphic Designer is a member of a three-person design and multimedia team who are responsible for delivering high impact, best-in-class print, digital and motion design services for the organization's multiple brands. The Graphic Designer is a full-service support role and is responsible for design, procurement, production, and final delivery of all assignments, including print and digital projects. This position focuses on producing designs for Corus' marketing and fundraising campaigns and materials, with the goals of creating an emotional connection with target audiences and distinguishing and elevating the brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to and/or initiate the design for Corus International's portfolio of brands including Lutheran World Relief, IMA World Health, Corus World Health, CGA Technologies, Ground Up Investing, and Farmers Market Coffee.
  • Deliver on a wide array of print and digital media, including newsletters, post cards, business cards, publications, signage, email, web, social media, advertisements, infographics, and motion graphics.
  • Work with colleagues and clients to develop concepts that meet business goals and deadlines.
  • Manage print production with procurement and vendors.
  • Ensure all creative assets are on brand and adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects within project timelines and design specifications.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and with the highest quality.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five years' relevant work experience that includes significant experience in a graphics design capacity.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:

  • For consideration, resume should include link to portfolio.
  • Portfolio should showcase successful projects that demonstrate understanding of design principles, color theory, typography and visual communication. Examples should include, at minimum, a long form printed publication and creative assets for a multi-channel campaign, including any combination of printed pieces, digital assets, logo and branding, and how they connect to create a good user experience.
  • Highly experienced in Adobe Creative Cloud software, including apps for both digital and traditional production.
  • Confident in both print and digital design and how these mediums intersect and complement each other.
  • Ability to distill technical subject matter into clear and meaningful infographics.
  • Understanding of printing methods and print production with experience working directly with production vendors.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of small and large teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with project management tools (Team Gantt, Slack, etc.).
  • Experience in web design and with open-source CMS (WordPress, Drupal).
  • Experience with video editing software and developing animations.
  • Experience in an agency setting.
  • Proficiency with word processing, email, and web browser software.
  • Experience in non-profit, cause-related or donor-centric marketing.

  • The mental requirements that are essential to satisfactorily executing the responsibilities outlined in this job description include: learning new tasks, comprehending, and retaining information, completing tasks independently, effectively communicating verbally and in writing, demonstrating proficiency in using computer software to perform assigned tasks.

Working Conditions, Travel and Environment

  • Corus has a hybrid work policy, allowing work to be done remotely; 2-3 days/week minimum in the office is required. The employee must be available to work outside normal office hours or on the weekends as required.
  • This position must be able to travel as required for standard domestic business purposes.
  • Must have authorization to work in country of assignment.
